June is finally here, which means life on Nova Scotia’s South Shore is about to shift into the “busy season.” I know here in Chester it means the return of so many longtime summer residents and, according to Nova Scotia Tourism, we’re likely to see plenty of visitors from all across the country as well. Of course, we are Canada’s Ocean Playground, so who can blame them?! Now, if you’re looking for beaches, you’ll find info on every one of them – from Peggy’s Cove to Barrington – here. But if you’d rather hit the links than hit the beach, you’ll be pleased to know all the golf courses are open for the season too. The rumours are true, I’ve resumed my golf lessons with great determination, and while my game still isn’t much to look at, the backdrop here at the legendary Chester Golf Course is beyond beautiful. The shot above was taken during the 2025 Swing for Shoreham Tournament. I was so pleased to be a sponsor again this year – it was wonderful to chat with everyone at the 7th tee. Thanks for stopping!

And huge THANK YOU to EVERYONE who entered my Happy 9th Anniversary Contest ~ at the tournament that day and online too. Now, after our random draw from all the entries received on Instagram, Facebook and MailChimp, I’m very pleased to announce the WINNER of the 2 handcrafted Paula MacDonald Sailboat Mugs from Going Coastal, plus the 340g bag of delicious Laughing Whale Coffee in Lunenburg. Congratulations to Nateleen Zinck. Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook as I’ll have more giveaways on the go this summer, along with all my lovely listings.
