Flipping the calendar to March means spring is but a few weeks away. And while the weather this time of year can be unpredictable, the current climate of our real estate market is easier to read. Inventory is low. Buyer activity is high. Overall it’s a great time to think about listing so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me here and I’ll get to work for YOU! I’ve received many inquiries about the Foreign Buyers ban being extended until January 1st, 2027 – and while this restricts non-Canadians from purchasing residential property in some parts of the country – most of Nova Scotia’s South Shore is not included in those restrictions. I’d love to answer any questions you might have, and welcome the chance to show you what’s available in this beautiful corner of the world.

Another big part of this month is MARCH BREAK! And while work will keep us close to home this year – we look forward to filling our free time with plenty of fresh air fun time for FREE – right here on the South Shore. It’s always an adventure hiking Graves Island. We’ve been doing it since the boys were little and they love it. And while we’ve worked our way up to the 3.4km trail as they’ve gotten older, rest assured there are lots of spots to pop off and take the main road back. (PRO TIP – dress in layers, wear comfy boots and bring bird seed for the chickadees.) I love hiking Castle Rock too – with 3 trails varying in difficulty there’s a route to the top for everyone and the view is truly worth the climb. You can get the full scoop here.

If you’ve been following me on Instagram and Facebook then you know we’ve been making great progress with our renovations. Oh sure, we took a bit more time getting the kitchen layout just right, but now that the cupboards have been installed – well, it’s simply amazing to see it all coming together! The countertops will be next, and while we decided on quartz for its durability and low-maintenance – there are plenty of countertop options to consider. Especially when you look at the designer trends for 2025 – which include the return to colourful palettes, the resurgence of natural wood surfaces, and even the emergence of porcelain. You can read all about those trends here. I’ll be sharing more video updates soon so stay tuned and in the meantime – ENJOY YOUR MARCH!!!
